New Theatre Will Be Alive With Music

One of  Australia's most experienced musicians and composer, Chong Lim who was musical the director and composer for the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, has written the orchestral score for ‘Bali Agung’ which opens at the new ‘Bali Theatre’ on August 29.

What You See Is What You Get

A stage show should be visually appealing for the audience and express the productions overall concept with good principles of design and the use of space, according to production designer Richard Jeziorny.
This is a real challenge when you have an acting area of 80 meters by 40 meters like the one he is working on now at the new indoor Bali Theatre at Bali Safari and Marine Park.

Let There Be Light

Stage lighting is no longer just a matter of turning on enough lamps so the actors can be seen. Fortunately this idea went away long ago. Today, the lighting designer is part of the overall production concept and is expected to be a master of art, science, history, psychology and communications.

He must also understand the science of light, optics, vision, the psychology of perception and lighting technology. Using these tools the lighting designer must learn to think, feel and create with his heart. Ultimately the lighting designer must be an artist! He must understand style, composition, balance, aesthetics and human emotions.

Featuring All Creatures Great And Small

Not only does the huge stage at the new indoor Bali Theatre easily accommodates the ten elephants appearing together but also has space for the cast of 150 actors, dancers and puppeteers as well as other animals.  
With a performance area of 80 by 40 meters and an equivalent space behind the set, it has been possible to have tigers, camels, domestic farm animals and many different kinds of birds incorporated into the legendry love story about three revered Balinese historic figures.

Most Eleborated Cultural Show Ever Staged Here

According to internationally acclaimed Bali puppet artist, I Made Sidia, the soon to open Bali Agung production will be the most elaborate cultural show ever performed in Indonesia. “I’ve seen many theatrical shows around the world and most of them have been great, but the Bali Agung will stand out in terms of concept and philosophy,” he claimed.
